Ono will always be our family. He was the most amazing mix of super intense, happy and fun, active and cuddly.
He went everywhere with us and he never left the house without a tennis ball. He slept against Mack’s legs every night of his life and though Mack complained that Ono took most of the bed, we couldn’t sleep without him there. Ono loved jumping off the boat after his ball, he loved chasing his ball for hours in the back yard and rolling around with it in his mouth. He loved lounging on the deck in the sun, he loved taking walks on the bike path near our house, he loved going to the barn with me and burying his ball in my horse Earl’s stall, he loved little kids and other dogs and most of all his mom and dad. When he was unsure of something, he always sat right on our feet. That’s how we knew when he was comfortable with someone new - as soon as he sat on their feet, they were in the Ono club.
I flew to Arkansas to adopt Ono when he was 12 weeks old because I knew as soon as I saw him that he was our boy. He was a hilarious mix of 20% Great Dane, corgi, boxer, bull dog and golden retriever and there is nothing we loved more than chuckling about his big head and one ear up and one ear down. What we wouldn’t give to see that face one more time. We loved him with our whole hearts every day of his life and we love him still for every day of ours. He died wrapped in our arms as we told him stories of our favorite memories until he was gone.
We love you, Ono Treece, so very much and miss you more than it’s possible to express in words. You are our special, most amazing boy and we cherish every single day we had with you.

Personal Notes

In honor and memory of a DEAREST ONO,
Your happy greetings, Ono, when we arrived at your home..your "smiling" composure...tail wagging, one ear up, the other, not so much....are forever in my vision, my heart. Always kind, ALWAYS READY for tennis ball playtime. I love you, ONO. We are blessed by you. Thank you, honey. With a full heart of love for you, Ono, Cheryl

Ono, I will always remember you. Wagging your tail as I came in the door, sitting on my feet which meant that you felt that I was a safe person to be with. You are now "over the rainbow bridge" and playing happily with Willie, Morgan, Mallie, and Charlie. Your spirit will be there always when I think of you. My heart will alway remember you, Leslie
