Mikey was my most loyal companion for 14 years.  He never left my side.  The day we found each other at the local animal shelter in Washington DC was a day I will never forget.  Looking for a puppy to share my life with was my goal coming to the shelter. Mikey caught my eye when I first walked in and no matter what other dog I spent time with he let me know that he was going to be the one.  From that day on we were a team.  We faced all ..the good and the bad... together...no matter what.  Having gone through a painful divorce and lots of medical issues he was my rock.  Everyday he gave me a reason to get out of bed no matter how hard it was to face the day.  He let me know that he needed me just as much as I needed him. 

 He also loved his grandparents because he was the favorite granddog.  Even though he did have some competition with his companions Sami and Murray, he  always convinced grandma and grandpa for that extra cookie. Who could resist those loving eyes?  

Mikey will always live in my heart.  There is a great emptiness, but knowing he is still with  me in spirit will comfort me until we are together again on the other side.
