I recently had to say goodbye to someone that I didn't want to say goodbye to - my best buddy and someone that I have spent the past 17 years growing up with. His name was Pepper and he was a most special creature.

A very intelligent canine, Pepper brought joy and love to everyone whom he met. Sometimes mischievious, he would steal the food off of your plate but no one could get mad at him. The gifts he brought to our household were unparalleled and we knew that and we thank him for that.

This border-collie cross was with me from the age of 8 onward and was there through every significant turning point in my life thus far, from graduating grade school to graduating college, from my first real job to starting my own business. He was my backbone and someone that provided the unconditional love and support that I needed. For that, I will always remember him and hold him close in my heart.

"I hope you enjoy Heaven ol' boy...I hope to see you again someday."

In the arms of an angel
Fly away from here
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort there

Personal Notes

Through the years, we have all had the misfortune of losing our beloved pets...though our pets, as yours, were considered family members. With time, the pain will heal, but the memories you had with Pepper will be with you forever.

Ode to Pepper

Pepper's life, in retrospect,
Has been a long and wondrous trek
Through Deborah's childhood and beyond;
They forged a deep and lasting bond.

When times were fine, they romped and played;
When Deb felt down and out, he stayed
Close by her side and comforted,
Just like a real true-blue friend would.

Now Pep won’t bark when Deborah calls . . .
He’s frolicking through Heaven’s halls!
But, as their hearts are so allied,
He’ll be forever by her side.

The lnger our pets are with us, the more atached we become to them. Be thankful that Pepper died surrouneded by the love of you and your family, and I know you gave him a very happy life.
