FOR LOVE OF BUBBLES We commemorate the life of our dear little friend, Biscayne Bubbles. This is a sad time for those of us who knew and loved her. There was only one—and will ever be only one, original Biscayne Bubbles. But while we feel the pain of missing her, we must remember and celebrate the joy of loving her—and how she loved each one of us. She was a gift from God. And remember, God spelled backwards is dog. Someone once said Bubbles was an angel in dogskins. And indeed she was. She had a spirit that drew people to her—strangers on the street would stop and talk to her and take pictures of her. She had a sensitivity that knew when someone was hurt or in pain—and she sought them out licking them and snuggling close. She had a playfulness that showed in her curly tail, her cocked head and the way she strutted down the street—or down the hall at Biscayne when she escaped through the open door of what became “her office.” “Dog walking” became a familiar sound whenever Bubbles got out and inevitably trotted down the hall to visit the kids in the Academy and anyone else she encountered along the way! Biscayne Bubbles was a gift of life. We did not own her anymore than we own our own life or the lives of anyone we love. She was brought to us by the Great Source of Life to help us play, to help us heal and to help us learn more about love. She touched so many peoples’ lives in the short time she was here. And, for that and all the lessons and love she brought us—and is still bringing us today—for that we are grateful. And while we miss her terribly, how much more would we have missed if we had never had her in our lives at all. So this memorial today is a tribute to Biscayne Bubbles from all of us.
