Penny came into our lives, along with her littermate sister Valentina, as a spur of the moment decision when we saw a sign up for free puppies in our neighborhood. They both brought so much love and light into our lives. Penny was always the calm and accepting one. She was the one who would've been a worry wart and tattle tale on what everyone was doing. She never met someone she did not great with a wag of the tail, a nudge of her head and a smile on her face (OK, the person dressed as the Easter Bunny at the petstore photo shoot was NOT a favorite but she tolerated him long enough for a pose LOL).

There are so many memories to tell - the sheer ecstasy of her and her sisters first taste of vanilla ice cream as young pups (something I wouldn't do but their Grandma gave it to them anyways)... Their whole bodies wagged and they jumped and barked wanting more... The first time we took them to the walking track is another one we laugh about (though it brings tears now) - we knew they were "big girls" and would have no problems... Rick ended up carrying Penny and I carried Val. Folks on the path were teasing us about how we walked our dogs... Penny loved to stop and smell each flower we passed as we walked, or if it was Christmas she would stop on our walks and study everything in their yards with her tail wagging. Mom, Rick and I would walk our dogs to an open field and we would let them run. Nobody could run like Penny and Valentina - they had open air gliding gaits - almost like they were flying - QUICKLY!

Penny meant the world to my husband and I - as well as her flesh sister Brandi, Grandma and her late Grandpa (My Dad never came on walks with us but would hear the stories. I guess my dad is now seeing what mom used to describe about Penny running first hand and going to take care of her until we get there). Her littermate sister Valentina truly misses her as well as her adopted furry sister Franki and brother Ned.

I know one day we will meet up again and have a grand reunion. Until then we will always miss and love you!
