Sasha was a rescue dog. She had a really rough time before we were gifted with her presence. She was so wary of people, but soon trusted us enough to let us give her the love she needed. She was then one of the best pets you could have asked for, so loyal, always wanted cuddles. She took the death of her 'sister' Babs in 2001 really hard. As a result of this, we made the very difficult decision of getting you a new sister for company, Ellie. Sasha adopted this 8 week old puppy as her own, and they have been inseperable since. A huge gap has been left in Ellie's heart now. The once boisterous lively dog, is lying in Sasha's bed, not playing as usual with a little broken heart.
I can't imagine life without you Sasha, although you have struggled with various problems over the last two years, fortnightly vet visits, failed to pick up you had cancer. Who'd have guess that 2 nights ago as I lay beside you on the floor and kissed you goodbye, it would be my last chance. If I'd know that, I would never have let you go. I hoped your visit to the vet would be as usual, some new tablets and you would be fine. Within 2 hours came the news that they would be letting you go to sleep for the final time. I'm so sorry if you had been in pain, nobody would have guessed by the way you wagged your tail, constantly looked for cuddles or impatiently moaned for your dinner.
There's a huge gap left here Sasha. My only way of dealing with it is heaven must have needed another Angel, so they took mines. You'll be back with Babs now, till I get there.
Sleep tight with all the other little Angels in 'Rainbow Bridge' Sasha + Babs just until I get there to meet you both xxxxxx
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together, never to be separated again.
