Jake was shipped to us by a breeder in Dallas.  From the moment we saw him at Raleigh-Durham Airport, we were smitten.  What a sight to see this wrinkled-little puppy with the sweetest disposition.  Jake was a Dougue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff) and possessed all the attributes we could ever ask for in a dog.  He was sweet towards everyone - a true gentle giant!  He loved little critters and animals.  The smaller the animal, the more he was intrigued and in love.  He and our cat Turbo were best buddies proving that cats and dogs CAN be best friends.  Our hearts are broke and we will never forget our sweet Jake.  Thanks for the years of companionship, love, joy, laughter and protections, Jake - we will keep you in our hearts always.

Jake, you were my strawberry blonde blue eyed cassanova practically from the day you where love.
I was so glad that your momma and poppa found us.
I know that they gave you the good life but it still will always be difficult saying good-bye.
Saying good-bye for a secong time hurts my haert maybe even more but please wait for me at the bridge, I'm sure I'll get there before momma and poppa and we'll wait for them with your dogue family
Life has been good but, it beleive it only gets better from here.

I love you Jake, see you in a while.

Tomorrow is your birthday, baby boy! Mama misses you SO MUCH! Each day when I come home, it hits me so hard that you are not around. I love you so much, Jake, and you are in my thoughts night and day. Happy Birthday, pup!

Happy Birthday Bud! I thought of you all day today. It was cloudy and rainy just like my heart feels today without you here. When I got home today, I looked thru my photo albums of you. I didn't cry but rather smiled and laughed looking at your pictures. I love you so much Jake! I miss you more than I can say.

Hey there buddy! Your football team is in the Superbowl! Mama and Papa will be rooting for them two weeks from now.

This evening when I came home from work, I was outside feeding the birdies and saw a rainbow. I felt like it was sent by you! I LOVE YOU JAKEY!

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight. All is well, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. Condolences from Dublin Ireland on the loss of the lovely Jake.

Hi Pumpkin! I just wanted to let you know that as of Monday, January 25th, a little bit of you lives on in our new future puppy, Cooper. I hope you understand why we want another puppy like you and that Mama and Papa need the companionship. I hope Cooper is ½ as good as you! Anyway, your Mama, Elysee, is Cooper's grandma so I hope you are pleased with our selection. I love you so much, Jake! I think of you tremendously and miss you more than words can say. Rest and play with Bandie, Louie, Smedley and all the wonderful pets at the "Rainbow Bridge." Mama will see you one day, Jakey. I love you.

Hi Baby Boy:

I just want you know that each day when I get home from work, I imagine you standing in the garage with your tail wagging. I miss you no less now than the day we lost you, Jake. I can't tell you how much I love you. Unfortunately, things didn't work out with the breeder we were going to get your nephew from. But we found someone else and we are going to pick up Cooper this weekend. Please wish us luck with our new puppy. If its half as good of a boy as you were, we'll be happy.

Hi Jakey: We got our new puppy and he reminds us so much of you! He's like a mini-Jake. I think you'd really be happy with Cooper. I'm not sure if Cooper and Turbo will be as good friends as you and her were, but Papa and I are working on that. Please know that even though we now have a new puppy, it doesn't mean you aren't in our thoughts and hearts. We talk about you at least once a day and think of you always. I love you buddy!
