Scarlett was one of the most amazing dogs our family has ever experienced. She came into our lives 14 years ago. My sister Michelle made a deal with my parents that if she got straight A's on her report card that she wanted a dog. My parents agreed. Of course my sister stuck to her end of the deal and made straight A's. My parents realized they too needed to follow through on their end of the promise. So, in 1993 (while I was away at college) I got a call that my family had gone to the local animal shelter and had adopted Scarlett. She had been found herding sheep and was rescued out of fear that she would get injured. When we brought her home she was hyper and kind of wild. Through the use of multiple trainers and learning about the breed we eventually were able to train Scarlett and she became the most loving, loyal, protective and active dog. She was an integral part of our family. We loved her "Aussie smiles", taking her on walks, playing with her, cuddling with her, and having her as a daily companion. Life with her was everything we could have imagined. We are now faced with the grief of not having her with us. We will never forget you Scarlett! We love you and miss you. We hope we touched your life in the same ways you touched ours. We will never be the same. We will never forget you. From now on, when we watch the sun as it sets, we will think of you and how you helped make our world a brighter place. Love, Michelle, Mom, Dad, Jennie, Steve, and Josh
