“SALLY” DAVIDSON

Sambo and Sally were considered mistakes. Lew, the owner of the mother, raised Miniature Schnauzers, but his dog got crossed with the next doors Toy Poodle (who dug under the fence) and the litter ended up “Schnoodles,” much to his disgust. No money in cross-breeds. So instead of selling the litter, he endeavored to give them away. Sambo, the larger of the two, was personally plus – the star of the show! Sally was shy but sly.
Tragedy struck when the doggies were six months old. Out for a walk with the girls and their mother, Sambo’s leash broke and he ran out in front of a car. This left Sally alone with no one to sleep beside. John took Sally into his bed to keep her from being lonely. From then on they were constant companions when he was home. They were best buddies until her last breath, sixteen years later.
After Sambo died, Sally’s personality changed and she became the star of the show. Her very bright mind learned the tricks that John taught her and she willingly performed for anyone coming to the house to watch her, much to their enjoyment. “Roll over, Sally.” She immediately got down on the floor and rolled over. “Play dead.” She rolled on her back with her feet up in the air and played dead, but her little tail would be wagging. “Speak!” And on and on she would entertain the guests with her antics. She especially liked an old sock and when told to “Kill it,” she would shake that sock unmercifully.
Joy came into John’s life when Sally was around 9 years old. Never having had a pet of her very own, she loved and cared for Sally as she had her own children. She helped to nurse her through several illnesses and with both John and Joy’s care for her, Sally lived more than two years longer than any of the other siblings of the litter. And she was the runt of that litter!
When John or Joy would drive in the driveway, she would be watching out of the window. When they entered the door, she would dance a jig and spin around in circles. She was so happy to see them. Sally’s devotion to John and Joy was total and complete. She loved her masters and they loved her with a passion. Sally was God’s gift and even though it was very sad that she suffered so much on the last day of her life, and that day being John’s birthday, even in dying on Nov. 4, Sally was giving John a gift. A gift of her life that John will never forget when more birthdays roll around. He’ll always remember that sweet, precious little mite of a dog who gave 100% of her love and affection during John’s good times and bad.
Sally, you were such a special little doggie. If there is such a thing as doggie saints, you surely were one. And if doggies are in Heaven, you’ll surely be there..
Sally, you were no mistake. God planned for you to be in the lives of all who knew you. You were a precious little doggie and you’ll always be remembered by those who loved you so much. You were a loyal little friend and always a Little Miss Hopeful.
You’ll be missed terribly. Truly, you were an “Amazing Sally with Grace..”

REST IN PEACE,

DEAR, SWEET SALLY.

YOU WERE LOVED!
