Akaela You were a wonderful walking companion. For 12 years we walked every morning. There was not a morning that went by that someone didn't say how beautiful you were and you were beautiful with a personality all your own.

We had many experiences together including being run over by a Moose up Millcreek Canyon and watching me fall off a five foot cliff. You did wait for me to climb back up. We had many good hikes up the canyon. One day you ran over the mountain from the Elbow Trail and as I bush-wacked it down a ravine I called your name and whistled continually. When I reached the end of the ravine on the other side of the mountain and started down the Baxter Trail, you came running down the mountain through the brush. I wondered if I would ever see you again.

Now you are resting under your favorite spot, under a pine tree in our back yard. You were a wonderful part of our lives and we will always keep you in our hearts.

Personal Notes

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight. All is well, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. Condolences from Ireland.

What a lovely dog Akaela was. It will take a long time for the pain to heal, but eventually you will get there, and you will remember Akaela for all the happy memories you both spent together.

Akaela is somewhere happiest now, and probably with my cat, Zali, who died exactly one year from now as I type this.

Kind Regards,

Gina Maree
