She was a Christmas gift, in a basket with a red ribbon, a tiny Silky terrier, small enough she fit in the palm of my hand. She owned me, not the other way around. She had a mind of her own and she never let me forget it. She was my little joy and I will never forget her. She died on a windy, cold October night. I had let her in the backyard and realized she had not come to the back door and it was dark. I called and called her and went looking for her. She was curled near a bush as if asleep. She was gone and my heart was broken. I will never forget my little companion and friend, my little Ginger.
