Sable and Chyna came to our home May 1, 2005 as 6 week old kittens. They were a great addition to our home; I have a 14 y/o male cat and an 11 y/o female cat, both who weren't really too sure what to make of these 2 kittens but the surprise came from our Heeler, Bevo. Both kittens took to him like he was their mom and he loved them like they were his kids--he slept with them, played with them and even bathed and groomed them--it was a very special relationship. Sable and Chyna were found to be infected with the virus that causes feline leukemia today, 10/14/05. After a long discussion with our vet, it was thought best to have the sisters euthanized; Sable was more ill than I ever knew. Once again, I made this heartbreaking decision with my husband, who, thank God, has been my source of strength. We lost Fletcher, our Siamese, just 1 year ago, and just as then, I'm devastated. Run free, sisters, until we meet again. I love you both.

So much loss in such a short amount of time... I am so sorry for your pain. There is an online pet loss support group where we talk about losing our furkids and share caring support, sympathy and understanding. We would love for you to join us. Sable and Chyna, you are so loved and missed. You were so small and yet left such a huge void, one that will get better with time but will never be completely filled. Take care of each other until your Mom is with you again. She loves you so much.
