I found Cally in April 1986 when she was a tiny kitten. She was a lovely silver tabby. When Vic and I went out at night, on our way home she would hear our voices and come to meet us meowing to us and then walk home with us. When I'd get up for work she would wait at the top of the stairs meowing at me to hurry up because she wanted to go downstairs and she would not go until I went with her. We had her for 19 years and 4 months. She was on medication for her heart for almost two years and had kidney failure towards the end of her life. We both miss her so much. I wrote a little poem for her.

Little girl I loved you so
I knew one day you’d have to go
You spent a long time here with me
It seemed as if you’d always be
Sleeping on our bed at night
Or meowing loud with all your might
Your velvet fur I loved to kiss
Your loveliness I’ll always miss
Little girl I long for the time
I’ll be holding you in these arms of mine
And your beautiful head I will caress
Little girl goodnight God bless.
